Another Lost Girl

When I reported for work today, I couldn’t see the noob from last week. Yes, the one who insisted he can’t work in an air-conditioned environment.

Unfortunately, because everyone bet on him to leave, there was no winner.

And in other news, another careless child wandered away from her parents.

There she was, wearing a scary hawk mask, and skating around obstacles in the exhibition hall. Everything about her, from her costume to her poise read ‘Cool Skater Girl’. That is, until she went past me on her second circuit, took off her mask and started bawling.

“Where’s my mommy?” demanded the six year old skater.

The transformation from ‘Cool Skater Girl’ to ‘Crybaby’ was so startling that it took me a few long seconds before responding.

To cut a long story short, the lost girl had a happy ending. My colleagues and I chipped in and sent her away to an exclusive orphanage downtown where she will spend her childhood indulging in French pastries and Playstation games.

Just kidding… The truth is we found her parents in the rather dull corner where they sell the stainless steel kitchen utensils.

My version is definitely much more interesting though.
